A perfect Gospel for imperfect men. (Part 2)

Let's continue to look at the law of Moses (The Ten commandments...)

Let's start with the 2nd commandment...

Do not make any idols

Do not make God to fit your imagination and ideals, for that is idolatry, and it's breaking the 1st and 2nd commandment.

Do not misuse the name of God

For if you have ever misused or used God's holy name as a curse word, you're are guilty of blaspheme, which is really serious. Because you have taken in vain the name of the One who gave you life.

Honor your parents

Have you always honored your parents in word and deed?

Do not commit murder

Jesus said "You have heard that the ancients were told, You shall not commit murder" and Whoever commits murder shall be liable to the court. But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be guilty before the court; and whoever shall say to his brother, "Raca," shall be guilty before the supreme court; and whoever shall say, "You fool," shall be guilty enough to go into the fiery hell..." Matthew 5:21-26

Do not commit adultery

But Jesus said "But I say to you, That whoever looks on a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart." Matthew 5:28

Do not lie

"Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God." 1 Corinthians 6:9-10

For it [the law] helps us to see that we are law breakers or our complete depravity in God's holy sight, and it leave us in desperate need of a perfect ransom, for the price of our lawlessness is one that we can't possibly pay. For to satisfy the wrath of God an atonement must be made, one of blood and death.

A perfect Gospel for imperfect men. (Part 1)

Why is the gospel perfect?

Let's first take a look at an essential part of the gospel; the law, the ten commandments, God's holy and moral standard for living. And it's purpose in evangelism, here are the main three...

1. When using it (the law) as prescribed in the Bible, it WILL stop the mouth from justifying the flesh. (Romans 3:19)

19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

2. It'll act as a mirror to the sinners conscience. (James 1:23-25)

For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

3. The law is perfect converting the soul. And it makes the wise simple. (Psalms 19:7)

The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul. The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple.
